Jennifer Linde, M.A., is a senior lecturer in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication at Arizona State University, Artistic Director of The Empty Space (Theatre), and a founding director of the Institute for Civil Dialogue.  She has designed and taught performance studies courses relating to communication and creativity, storytelling, oral interpretation of literature, civil communication, and methods for adapting traditional scholarship to the stage. She is co-founder of Storyscope, a story circle format that promotes community connections through storytelling and art.  She has participated in the design and development of Civil Dialogue at Arizona State University since its inception in 2004.  Linde has used Civil Dialogue as a pedagogical tool in performance studies classes and facilitated Civil Dialogue events in public and educational contexts. In 2012 she appeared on C-SPAN discussing Is Civility Overrated? encouraging civility on a national level. She is co-author of Hot Topics, Cool Heads: A Handbook for Civil Dialogue.
